There is nothing better in the spring and summer than getting friends and family together to share food and have fun. We love to have little fiestas with taco bars, and I decided to add a little extra fun to my taco bar with these adorable food markers! These are easy and quick to make and look so cute on your food table. Let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Adhesives:
- Electronic Die Cutting machine
- Cutting files: Cricut Design Space Images
To start, open the Cricut Design Space files linked above and make any color edits you want to make. To resize the images, make sure you have all of them selected before resizing to keep the proportions the same. If you don't have a Cricut, you can search your machine's software for margarita, taco, guacamole, etc to make your own files.
Once your files are ready, cut out all of your pieces. I have the colors I used listed above. I love how bright the Lessebo papers are, and they die cut so well!
We're going to start assembly with the taco. All of these files are super easy to put together by layering one piece on top of the other. You can use any adhesive you like for this, but I used a combination of liquid glue and foam pop dots to give my pieces a 3D effect. I put the yellow cheese on top of the brown meat with liquid glue, then the red tomato layer with pop dots, then the green lettuce with pop dots, and finished it off with the yellow tortilla shell using liquid glue.
Now let's make some guacamole! This one has more pieces than the taco, but is still just building layers. Once again, I used a combination of liquid glue and foam pop dots. Start by gluing your dark green layer to the black base layer. Then, layer the lighter green on top of the dark green with pop dots. Add the small jalapeno and tomato chunks on top of the light green. Now add the blue bowl accents to the bottom half of the black base. Finish it off with your yellow tortilla chip. I used foam dots for this piece so it would look like the chip was going into the bowl.
Margarita time! Layer the green glass center onto the blue base layer with liquid glue. Add your white glass accents on top of the glass with liquid glue. Glue the white lime piece on top of the green lime base and attach it to the glass using foam pop dots. Easy peasy!
Now let's turn these into food tents so they can stand up on the table. I cut squares and rectangle pieces that matched the size of each item, scored them in the middle, and folded them to make a tent. I then glued them to the back of each of the food items using liquid glue. To make this easier for you, I have added the already-sized rectangles to the Cricut file, but you can also make these by hand using your scraps if you like.
Now you are ready to decorate your taco bar and have a fiesta! When your party is over, put them in a bag or container and save them for your next party.
