Hello, friends! Spring is almost here, and I’m excited to share a fun card project with you! This design features delicate cherry blossoms, elegant die cut layers, and a soft, sophisticated touch of vellum. Let’s get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Cherry Blossom dies (or other small florals)
- Intricate Background Die
- Nested shape dies- 2 sizes of the same shape
- Sentiment stamp
- Gold Half Pearl Embellishments
- Bearly Art Liquid Adhesive
I began by die-cutting all of the elements for the card, including the cherry blossoms and the sentiment panel. You can see the list of colors I used in the supplies above. Multiple small florals are a great way to add a big impact to a handmade card, so use whatever floral dies you have on hand.
I adhered the decorative white die cut panel to a 4.25” x 5.5” top-folding A2 card base for a beautifully intricate background. I used Bearly Art glue to attach this because the precision tip is perfect for intricate die cuts.
Next, I stamped my sentiment onto a die cut shape. To add a soft frame, I layered the sentiment piece onto a slightly larger vellum die cut before adhering it to the card front. This also adds depth to your card. You can use any shaped dies you have to create a similar effect on your cards.
Once my card base and sentiment were ready, I assembled the cherry blossom die cuts. I layered together the petals with liquid glue to create dimension and a realistic floral effect. I made lots of flowers because I wanted to really pack this card with florals!
I positioned and adhered the cherry blossom die cuts onto the card front, creating a balanced and visually appealing design.
For a final touch, I added a few half-pearl embellishments to bring subtle elegance and shine to the card.
And that’s it! I hope this card project inspires you to Make Something Beautiful® this spring. And if you're lucky to live somewhere near cherry blossom trees, don't forget to go out and see them, as their flowers are fleeting, just like spring.
