Fall Die Cut Apple Pumpkin and Leaves Bouquet

3d Paper Fall Bouquet

I’m always searching for home décor pieces that can be displayed the entire fall season. Switching décor completely between Halloween and Thanksgiving isn’t making the top of my to-do list. After seeing a photo online, I set out to create my own version made of cardstock. Follow along to learn how to create this 3D Fall Harvest Bouquet, completely made of paper. This can be gently packed away and reused for many years to come!

Supplies:

Begin by opening the linked Cricut file containing all the fall bouquet images. The bouquet contains (5) leaves, (3) pumpkins, and (2) apples. All the images used for this project are available via Cricut Access. Then gather the rest of your project supplies. I like to put all my pieces in a tray to keep them organized.

Glue together the (5) fall leaves in varying cardstock shades. The colors of the leaves can easily be adjusted as desired. Ou can assemble these in monochrome pairings like I did for the two yellow leaves, or you can mix-and-match the colors to create a variety of combinations. I also used a combination of matte and shimmer cardstock shades for more visual interest and variety. Stardream Copper is one of my personal favorite cardstock shades!

Next up are the apples! Each apple is comprised of three pieces in Bark Brown, Scarlet, and Lockwood Green. Adhere the three pieces together using liquid glue for each apple.

The last bouquet items are the quintessential orange pumpkins. Attach the Stardream Flame pumpkin to the Bark Brown base using liquid glue. Once the pumpkins are glued, the bouquet pieces are finished.

Next, attach wooden skewers to the back of the pumpkins and large maple leaves using a hot glue gun. A cordless hot glue gun has been the best recent addition to my crafting line-up. The smaller leaves and apples do not have skewers, as they will be added to fill in the bouquet.

For the base of the bouquet, I used a piece of cardboard from my Cardstock Warehouse delivery box. I trimmed the bottom edges slightly to make it more of a ‘bouquet’ shape. Starting at the top of the bouquet, layer the pumpkin and maple leaf images and adhere them to the cardboard using hot glue. Try to cover as much of the cardboard as possible. Once all the pumpkins and maple leaves are glued to the cardboard, attach the apples and smaller leaves to the areas that need more coverage.

To create the bouquet ‘wrap’ I used a large piece of kraft butcher paper, cut in a 20 x 20-inch square. Fold the square diagonally creating a large triangle. Using hot glue, attach the piece of cardboard to the point of the triangle. Then wrap the left side across, leaving a bit of room for dimension, and secure with hot glue.

After folding over the left side, there will be a little triangle sticking out. Fold this triangle piece down and secure with hot glue. Then wrap over the right side of the paper, securing it in the front and back with hot glue. The bottom of the bouquet is all wrapped up!

This is also a great time to add a loop of ribbon or twine to the back. This makes the bouquet easy to hang and display all season long. (I use a command hook for mine so I don't damage the wall)

To fill in the gaps around the butcher paper, cut a piece of Thai Unryu paper in half and fold in a fan-like shape. Place and secure the paper with hot glue. The texture and look of the Thai Unryu paper is so elegant and beautiful.

I’m so happy with how this fall bouquet project came to life and can’t wait to keep it up for the fall! You can adapt this project to match your desired color scheme, add other shapes, or even put them in a vase to make a large centerpiece. So many creative possiblities!
