Are you YETI for Christmas? It’s time to finish your Christmas shopping and wrap up all those gifts. We all know there are some people who are impossible to shop for. A gift card is a wonderful way to let them select something they will love. Here’s an abominable, I mean adorable, way to wrap a gift card and place it on your tree until it’s gift giving time. It’s so cute, you might just want to keep it for yourself. Follow along for how to make this yeti gift card holder ornament.

Start by cutting & scoring all the yeti pieces from the linked Cricut file. This project is available as a ready-to-make project through Cricut Access, which means it’s easy and comes together quickly! I chose to cut the yeti’s white furry body from two different types of cardstock, plain White and Diamond Glitter, to add some more sparkle to this festive ornament.
First, glue together the yeti’s body which includes both the white and blue pieces. Once the two separate portions are glued, then attach the torso to the rest of the body. Important - make sure NOT to glue down the hands, as they will hold the gift card later. The main portion of your snow monster is now complete!
Next, it’s time to glue together the yeti’s face which is comprised of 5 separate pieces. Start with the black piece on the bottom, then solid white, then blue, and the white glitter piece on top. Finish his face with the bright Fuchsia mouth. With the jagged teeth and the pink mouth, the yeti’s face is the perfect mix of scary and cute. The last step for the yeti is to glue the layered face to the rest of the body.
Now let’s work on the simple present gift card holder. This template is so easy to put together and the perfect way to wrap a gift card. Start by folding the scored flaps inward and securing the flaps with liquid glue. Then add the gold glitter bow to the front of the holder. The colors could be personalized for the recipient based on their favorite colors.
Carefully slide and position the gift card holder underneath the yeti’s arms, adjusting the hands as necessary to get a good fit. This is why keeping the hands free is so important.
To turn this gift card holder into an ornament, cut some twine / tinsel string of your choice and desired length. Bring the two ends of the twine together and push the loop through the hole at the top of the snow monster. Loop the string around itself and pull taught. Tie a knot at the top with the two ends, creating a circle.
The not so scary snow monster is ready to be hung on your tree and gifted with love. I’m obsessed with how this gift card holder turned out, especially with the extra sparkle from the Diamond Glitter and Mirrisparkle papers.
