Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, joining you today to share a layered holiday card. I love cards that have lots of layered dies and this card really packs a punch for the holidays!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Stardream Gold 105lb
- Translucent Vellum 48lb
- Copper Mirror 100lb
- Colorplan Chartreuse 100lb
- Lessebo Colours 83lb: Dawn, Moss, Shitake, & Cherry
- Papertrey Ink Swag die
- Gold Vintage Script Rub-On Transfers
- Adhesives:
- Small Foam Dots
- Double-Sided Adhesive
- White Gelly Roll Pen
To begin, I used the complete die set and cut the Gold, Chartreuse, and the Lessebo papers. I wanted to ensure that I had an abundance of greenery to work with. I cut additional cherries from the Cherry cardstock to fill the berry stems.
Then, I assembled all of the bows, adding foam squares between each layer. You will be left with many bows to use on future projects. I love having extra die cuts to use when later when I want to make a quick project.
I then created an 3 ¾ x 5 inch panel of vellum and transferred the Gold Vintage Script onto the vellum panel. Rub-on transfers are a great way to create easy backgrounds, and they are so awesome on vellum!
I then chose a bow for the swag center and laid out some of the greenery to begin layering to form the swag. There is no rhyme or reason for how I layered things up. I wanted the swag to be full and fill the card panel. You can add as much or as little of the pieces as you would like.
I worked in layers adding double-sided adhesive across the bow back and adding pieces on. I continued this process until the swag was complete. I adhered the swag to the vellum panel with more double-sided adhesive and then affixed this to the center of an A2 panel of Copper Mirror card stock. The contrast of the mirror card stock to the gold is beautiful.
Here is a look at the completed card. I chose not to add a sentiment to this so the swag could be the focal point. I will add a cheerful holiday message inside. I love how bold and dimensional it is!
