Hi everyone! Daisie here with a fun Halloween themed layout without using a Halloween picture. I often take selfies of myself in what I like to call my zombie mom mode. Usually, I’m exhausted, haven’t showered, and look like death warmed over. But it’s important that we include ourselves in our memory keeping, right? Well, this way I can include a photo of me in a fun context!
Supplies Needed:
- Scissors or paper trimmer
- Adhesive
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Sour Apple Pop-Tone cardstock
- Sweet Tooth Pop-Tone cardstock
- Black Mirrisparkle cardstock
Optional:
- Green ink
- Pattern paper
- Embellishments
- alpha
To start, I cut an entire 12x12 sheet of Sweet Tooth cardstock into strips. The strips vary in size from half to two inches in width. It doesn’t matter if these are straight so feel free to use a scissor to cut them. I chose to use a Distress Oxide ink in Cracked Pistachio to ink the edge of each strip. Once the ink was dry, I used my scissors and distressed the edge of each strip to give it that old bandage look.
After my bandages were complete I adhered them to the Sour Apple cardstock in a random fashion. I just used my judgment to create the best mummy look I could. This part was a lot of fun to do! Next, I cut down this whole piece to 11x11 size using my paper trimmer. I cut down the Black Mirrisparkle paper to 11.25x11.25, then gutted the center of the paper so I could save the part that would be covered for a different project. I adhered these two pieces together then added a green plaid pattern paper in 12x12 size behind it. I felt this gave a fun frame around the layout.
Finally, I added a lot of embellishments and the title. I added a few layers behind the photo using black and white and green paper. I decided to stick mainly to green embellishments but also added some fun pieces that I have been struggling to use (black cat). I finished with a few tabs and some sequins. This was a great way to get one of these everyday pictures of myself into my scrapbooks while poking a little fun at myself!
