Using each of the colors of cardstock, I arranged the coordinating pieces for one of the monsters. I chose cardstocks that matched the gift card I picked up since you will see the gift card on the front of the card.
I ended up cutting two of the dies from different colors due to how they are made. Just be aware of this when you cut things out. I used the heart die from the set to cut a total of 4 hearts, two whole and two partial.
I started by building my monster. First, the white eyes are attached to the back of the pink monster body. I then added the gold horns and once those were complete, I adhered the hands and feet. For the mouth, I added the tongue first to the mouth die cut, and then put the teeth in place on the monster. Finally, I adhered the mouth die cut to go behind the teeth.
I grabbed an A2 panel of Cherry and decided where I would like the gift card pouch to be placed and made small marks as a guide. I then adhered the hearts to fill the background space, ensuring that most of the hearts would be outside of where the gift card pouch was placed. I snipped the overhang off.
Using Nuvo Drops, I added texture. The Carnation Pink drops are added to the embossed areas on the body. The Caribbean Ocean drips are added to the eyes. I set this aside to dry and worked on adding my gift card.
Before adhering the gift card holder pouch using double-sided adhesive, I added a bit of my shaker mix to the center of the card. Adding the mix is completely optional, but I think it adds a nice touch. You could also add glitter, sequins, beads, confetti, or any other shaker mix. I wanted there to be more interest but did not want to add more around the hearts, so I went this route.
Since my gift card has a sentiment, I chose not to completely cover it, nor did I add an additional sentiment to the holder. Once I thought I had enough mix, I carefully added the pouch.
I goofed and did not center my pouch, so I chose to cut things down to make it centered. My panel ended up being about 4 x 5 inches. I then backed it with a 4 ¼ x 5 ¼ inch white panel.
I then went in with a white pen and added highlights to the hearts and the monster. I added eyelashes with a black flair pen.
Finally, I added the monster to the top center of the gift card holder using foam squares. Now I have this cute shaker gift card holder that I hope the recipient will love!
