Hi Crafty Friends, I hope your week is going wonderful! I wanted to share this card because we all have tons of scraps of cardstock leftover from all of our awesome creations. Let’s put those scraps to use! I looked through all of my cardstock scraps and picked out my color scheme and made this fun Birthday Card.
Supplies
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers:
- Ebony Black
- Bright White
- Desert Sand
- Gold Mirror
- Adriatic Blue
- Grape Jelly
- Lagoon
- Happy Birthday die or sentiment stamp
- Rectangle die or paper cutter
- Alphabet Die Set
- White Embossing Powder
- Clear Embossing Ink
- Die Cut Machine
- Paper Trimmer
- Tape Runner
I gathered all my scraps together and picked my color scheme. I was inspired by peacocks because I think they are so beautiful! I used a paper trimmer and trimmed out a bunch of pieces of cardstock in a few different sizes using Desert Sand, Gold Mirror, Adriatic, Grape Jelly and Lagoon. I also die cut a rectangle out of Bright White Cardstock and die cut the letters HBD out of Ebony Cardstock twice.
I glued the strips of paper in different angles onto the die cut rectangle and then I trimmed off the excess with scissors. I glued the letters together for dimension.
I glued the panel with the strips onto a slightly larger piece of Gold Mirror Cardstock for a framed look. I adhered that to a white A2 size card base. I glued the letters with liquid glue onto the center of the card. I stamped the sentiment onto Ebony Cardstock and white heat embossed it. I trimmed it out and put foam tape behind for dimension. I glued it onto the center of the “HBD” letters.
I hope this makes you think about your scraps differently and I hope you enjoyed this project!
