Hello crafty friends, it’s Neftali back with you today sharing a fun mini album I made using my sewing machine, lots of fun Valentines Day themed embellishments and stickers, and a beautiful selection of Cardstock Warehouse papers. I included lots of fun pop with the metallic red paper from the shop.
Today I will be sharing with you the process for this sweet mini from beginning to end. But first, let’s gather up our supplies. Here is a list of the supplies and papers I used for this mini.
SUPPLIES:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Red Mirricard Mirror Paper
- Valentine’s Day Cardstock Collection Multi-Paper Pack
- Crate Paper La La Love Ephemera Pack, 6x8 Paper Pack
- Sewing Machine
- Dimensional Adhesive
- Other fun embellishments for added bulk and cuteness
- Mini Photographs
To start this mini album, I used as a stencil a small heart that I had purchased to fill with candy. I simply traced the heart in all the pretty colors and patterns you see below.
Once all my hearts were traced and cut, I backed the patterned papers with a colored cardstock paper, and ran it through my sewing machine.
I have mentioned this before, and it is that I love to include texture to my mini albums with some machine stitching. It really created a beautiful amount of texture in your projects and it really gives off a polished look.
Once my little hearts were stitched with one patterned and one colored paper, I used some small strips of paper sized down to 1”x ½” to connect the hearts back to back, in an accordion style. I used two strips on each side, and stitched around them. I added extra interest to the mini album by adding extra flip-up heart layers. This will allow for more space to add embellishments in the next step.
Once I had seven hearts stitched together, I was able to decorate to my heart’s content! I used the Crate Paper Fa La La collection including the papers, and ephemera to add the cute decorations to my mini.
I made this mini for my husband to give to him on Valentine’s Day this weekend. So I printed a bunch of tiny images of ourselves through the years. Feel free to create a special project like this for your own special person, your best friend, and your Valentines.
