Express your gratitude by sending handsome thank you cards with coordinating embossing colors. Who wouldn’t be super happy to receive a set of these as a gift, too? For my project today, I have created a set of thank you cards using dark cardstocks and metallic embossing powders.
To start, you will need to gather these supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers in Hot Fudge 100lb, Sapphire 100lb and Sweet Tooth White 100lb
- Metallic and White Embossing Powders (I used Brutus Monroe Penny, Alabaster and Sterling and Simon Says Stamp Steel Navy.)
- Your favorite Thank You stamp set. (I used the Gina K Boho Flowers Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies and the Concord and 9th Triple-Step Stamp and Die Bundle)
- Clear Embossing Ink
- Baking powder, cornstarch or talc-free baby powder
- Heat tool
- Die cutting machine or precision scissors
- Paper trimmer
- Stamping tool (i.e. large acrylic block, MISTI)
Follow these step-by-step directions to complete your card:
- Begin creating card bases out of the Sweet Tooth 100lb cardstock. Make sure you score before you fold for a clean line! (Visit our Scoring Paper 101 page to learn how.)
- Trim your Sapphire cardstock to 3.75” x 5.5" to make three panels.
- Trim a piece of Hot Fudge cardstock in half to fit in your die cutting machine.
- For the Boho Flowers card, stamp and emboss the flowers, flourishes and sentiments alternating colors.
- Die cut the pieces and glue them on to the front of one of the Sapphire panels as shown
- Finish off the panel with stud embellishments.
- For the Triple-Step Stamp Set thank you cards, stamp and emboss the images and sentiments in alternating colors on the Sapphire panels.
