Hello everyone! Today I have a layout that I made with one of my many fall photos. I was bored of the traditional fall embellishments and wanted to stay away from using more leaves on this layout. So I chose to use feathers instead. This layout is super easy to put together!
Supplies needed:
- Scissors, punch, or die cutting machine
- Liquid glue
- Glue Dots
Papers Used:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Foundations Collection Nightshift Dark Blue 100# coverstock
- Mirror Collection Gold 100# coverstock
Optional:
- Alphabet stickers
- Thread
To start, I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut out a bunch of feathers. I used the gorgeous Gold Mirror cardstock. It is so gold and shiny! I used the remaining paper and star punch to make a lot of stars to use on this layout and some extra to have on hand. None of this paper is going to waste!
I chose to pair this beautiful gold with Nightshift Blue cardstock. I love the combination of gold and navy. I think it looks so elegant together. I tried out many different configurations with the feathers before I landed on the circular design. I wanted to really display the feathers and this way you say more of them.
Once the feathers were down, I added all of the stars. I had the thought of a dreamcatcher in my head and thought that the stars would add to that theme. Because of how much I liked the way this was heading, I decided to keep the embellishment simple.
I added some white tangled thread behind my photo for a little bit of texture. The title is a mix of little foam alphas and a large chipboard word. I chose white for both because it was high impact without detracting too much from all of the gold!
Please check out the video for a more step by step look at my process.
