Hi there, it's Ivy from @ivypinkmade. I’m so excited to share my first project for Cardstock warehouse! I am obsessed with all things pink and hedgehogs and I couldn’t wait to create something incorporating both when I saw the Valentine's Day paper pack. I hope you enjoy this banner tutorial.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers: Be My Valentine Cardstock
- SpiegelMom Scraps Pink Promenade Sequins
- Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L EZ Grand Runner, Foam dots and Micro Dots
- Unfinished wood hedgehog by Consumer Crafts
- Heart die cuts- Silhouette and Sizzix
- Cricut Maker
- Bow Die-cut- Simon Says Stamp
- Rhinestones Prima and Amuse
I was going to trace the wooden hedgehog then hand cut it, but then I had a brilliant idea to take a photo of the wooden hedgehog and upload it to Cricut Design Space instead! Which worked out great and made the cuts much quicker, I was then able to slice the pieces I wanted so I can easily cut them in the colors I needed.
Once your pieces are all cut up, cover the hedgehog using Pink lemonade for the feet & face. For the body, I used Wild Cherry and Razzle Berry cardstock.
Cut 6 “quills” for each hedgehog using a heart die in Wild Cherry and Razzle Berry cardstock and adhere to the body. Die-cut Cotton Candy cardstock for the bow.
I made the XOXO in Cricut Design Space by using the font called Reservoir Grunge. Weld a circle in the center of the O to make it solid, then cut a heart to pop up in the center.
This is the fun part, adding all the pretty sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and rhinestones details.
Now its time to assemble the banner. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the twine in the back Ta-Da now you have an adorable hedgeHUG banner for Valentine’s Day!
Now sit back and admire your final product!
