Hi, Friends! Summer is coming to an end and school is just around the corner! I honestly love August! There’s just something about starting a fresh new school year! In this blog, I’m going to show you how to create something fun for teachers, students, and homeschoolers.
First, gather your supplies. For this project you will need:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Autumn Cardstock Collection 65lb
- Wild Cherry
- Tangy Orange
- Gumdrop Green
- Jellybean Green
- Hot Fudge
- Hot glue gun
- Craft Tape
- Bone Folder (optional)
- Pencils
- Cutting Machine, or you can create your own apple template
To begin, create your template for this project. I used these images from Design Space.
I used the “attach” feature and a line shape to create a score line to fold the apples in half.
Next, cut out your images. I used a combination of the red and orange for the apples, a combination of greens for the leaves and the brown for the stem of the apple.
Each pencil topper will consist of one leaf, one stem, one base apple (with no score line) and three apples with score lines.
Now let’s assemble!
First, start off by placing down a base apple (with no score line). Using your crafters tape, adhere the stem and leaf. Then I chose to secure the pencil using a dab of hot glue to the base. This part is optional though!
Next, you will adhere three apples with score lines together. Begin by folding along the score line and crease with a bone folder. I found it easier to secure these pieces together first before adhering it to the pencil.
Then, align the edges of the apples together over the pencil and glue it. You can use double-sided tape or hot glue to attach the folded apples to the top of the base.
And there we have it! The perfect classroom and teacher gift!
You could gift these in a cute mug, vase, or tie them up with some cute ribbon.
Thanks for joining me! I hope you all were inspired to craft today!
