Hello friends! Happy New Year! I am so excited to be joining you for a third term here at Cardstock Warehouse. This month I thought I would create a card using a super cute donut themed die set I recently purchased. It’s not very often that I create cards or use dies, but this set of dies were the perfect way to make some sweet cards in a short amount of time. Plus, I am so excited to tell you that the Island Breeze multi-color paper pack has all the colors you need to bake some donuts… I mean make some donut cards, ha!
Let’s get crafty, friends! We will start off by gathering our supplies. Here is the list of supplies you will need for this project:
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Island Breeze Cardstock Collection
- Barely Pink Cardstock
- White Diamond Print Inkjet
- Glue Pen - available in the shop!
- Donut Die Set
- Small stamp with sentiment
- Double-sided tape
- Foam Adhesive
I knew that I had all the colored card stock to make some cute die cut donuts. So as I was searching some colors, I found that the Island Breeze Cardstock Collection multi-color paper pack has all the colors you need to make some donuts! I was delighted to see that I only needed one paper pack to make this die set work! How awesome, right? I also ended up adding in the Barley Pink from the Foundations Collection, and White Diamond Print Glitter, but you don't have to if you don't have them.
The die set that I am using is one I ordered on Amazon. It’s a really handy set that allows you to add layers to the donuts, and it is also made to create a mini book out of it. But I stuck to making a donut card only.
Next, I brought out my die cutting machine and I ran all of my pieces thru it, including the itty bitty sprinkles. Once everything was cut out I began to layer all of my bits. I also made sure to cut off the extra bit on my base layer that was for the mini album holes. The colors I used are:
- card base- Berrylicious
- card mat- Barely Pink
- donut base- Madero Beach
- donut background- White Diamond Print Glitter
- donut hole- Madero Beach
- donut icing- Razzle Berry
- sprinkles- Lemon Drop, White Diamond Print Glitter, and Berrylicious
The final step was to add all of my paper “sprinkles”. For that I used my glue pen which you can also find in the shop! It is perfect for attaching these itty bitty pieces without overdoing it with the glue.
That’s it, friend! These few easy steps helped create a completely adorable donut card which you can admire below.
As promised, I have a process video to share with you that has the step-by-step process for completing this card. You can watch it it below. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more fun crafty videos!
