Glitter Paper Easter Egg Cake Topper

Glitter Paper Easter Egg Cake Topper

Hello everyone! Happy Easter!! (Or very close to Easter, that is.) I decided to do a cake banner this month and change things up a bit.
To get started on this Fun Banner we are going to be using the following supplies.
  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Rose Quartz Stardream
    • Pure White 80lb
    • Silver Sparkle
    • Banana Split, Grapesicle, Spearmint (Pretty in Pastels)
  • Alphabet Die
  • Alcohol Ink
  • Wood Skewers
  • Foam Tape
  • Glue: Tombow Multi Liquid Glue

Now that we have that sorted let's get started on this fun project.
Let's take this beautiful silver sparkle paper and cut out Easter eggs. I just drew one then cut it out and traced 5 more for a total of 6 Easter eggs.

Now to make these cute little eggs look like dyed eggs I'm going to be using alcohol inks. Make sure you're in a well-ventilated area because this can be a strong smell.

Take the blender solution and place that down first. I used a plastic sheet so it wouldn't absorb. then went in with two colors of the alcohol ink. For my first 2 eggs, I used purple and pink, then green and blue for the next 2, and then orange and yellow for the last 2. Let these dry.

Next, I'm going to take my hole punch to punch out a bunch of white circles for the eggs. We are going to use our glue to place these circles on our eggs for decoration.

Now we are going to work on the skewers or stakes. I just picked these up at my local grocery store.

I'm going to be using the pure white for the bunny ears and the rose quartz for the pink in the ears. Draw some ears and cut them out however long or short you want your ears to be. Mine are 6 1/2" for the white and then I just cut out the pink with no measurements.

I then cut out 4 slits on the ears to slide my skewers through and then use foam tape to add the pink inner ear. These are so cute just on their own!!

Now let's focus on the sentiment that goes on our eggs. I'm using the dies from Blueprint to cut out "EASTER" on our pure white paper.

Next, I'm going to take my Banana Split, Grapesicle, and Spearmint card stock to cut out circles for the background for my words so they are easier to read. I used a Helix to draw my circles because I can't draw a circle to save my life.

Now let's glue our words to our circles and pop them up on foam tape to our eggs. We are going to also use those white dots we popped out with our hole puncher to add dots to the eggs.

Now, all we have to do is put it all together. I'm going to use some craft string to tape to the back of my eggs and connect them to my ears.
