Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned paper chain? This version will bring back whimsical memories of your childhood holidays while keeping your home classy and festive.
To start, you will need:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Colorplan Scarlet
- Colorplan Lockwood Green
- Colorplan Park Green
- Colorplan Bitter Chocolate
- Sparkle Silver
- Stardream Silver
- Stardream Antique Gold
- Speckletone Oatmeal
- Stapler
- Glue Pen
- Die Cut Machine
Using your die cut machine software, design the bands for your chain. These turned out a little small so I increased the size to 8” wide by 1.5” tall. Using the slicing feature, cut out festive images making sure to leave about 1” on each end and 0.25” margin on top and bottom.
Design another solid band with the same measurements but in a contrasting color to put behind the cut-outs. And cut!
Glue the front to the back with your glue pen. Before rolling, pull the double band between your fingers like curling a ribbon to give it that smooth curve. Roll into a circle and staple, preferably with pretty copper staples!
Continue in the color pattern you want, linking each together to form a long chain. Drape on your mantle, around your tree, over a mirror or down the middle of your dining table… the possibilities are endless!
