Sometimes all you want to craft is something fun and easy. This project is sure to fill that quota and brighten up anyone’s day, not to mention this is a great craft to do with kids because of how simple it is! I love Harry Potter and thought it’d be fun to say I’m sending my “OWL” but feel free to do any kind of animal you can think up! Here’s how I made a couple of adorable owls.
Materials
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers in Pure White, Black Licorice, Berrylicious, Cotton Candy, and Orange Fizz
- Adhesive (Zig glue pen)
- Scoring pen
- Cutting machine or scissors
The first step is to cut out all of your pieces. Below are the dimensions of each of the different pieces I cut.
Now, you'll want to put together your physical envelope so you have the base (or body) to glue every other piece on to. Begin by folding along the score lines if you have them, and adhere the “pocket.” Make sure you use permanent adhesive to ensure that they won't budge! I made this mistake more than once…
Now glue on each piece, the order doesn't matter; that’s the fun part!
PRO (amateur) TIP: I used washi tape to keep the lid closed while adhering each piece to make it easier.
Now you have an oh-so-adorable owl envelope that will be hard to let go.
What are you going to put in your homemade envelopes? We'd love to see! Tag us in your creations on Facebook and Instagram to be featured on our account!
Happy Crafting!
