Valentine’s Day is a great time to give small gifts to the people you love. These cute little bath bomb boxes are such a fun gift idea to give to your girlfriends for a Galentine's day gift! You can also put a squash ball or other trinkets in them for your kids.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock papers:
- Colorplan 100lb: Lavender & Purple
- Lessebo Colours: Blossom & Bubblegum
- MirriCard Mirror 100lb: Pink & Purple
-
Adhesives:
- Barely Art Glue
- Hot Glue
- Acetate- 1 small piece
- Cutting machine (I’m using a Cricut)
- Bath Bomb Box SVG File from Etsy
- Rolled Flower & Leaf Cut Files
Start by adding your files to your cutting software. You’ll need the Etsy file linked above, and a rolled flower and leaf file. You can choose whatever rolled flower and leaf files you like best from your cutting machine’s options.
I am cutting my boxes out of Bubblegum and Purple, my flowers from Blossom and Lavender, and my leaves from Pink and Purple Mirror. I love the little bit of shine the mirror paper adds!
When cutting thicker papers, be sure to use the “cut twice” setting on your machine to ensure it cuts all the way through.
Once your pieces are cut, assemble the boxes. I cut a small square of acetate to create a little window for my box. Just make sure you cut the square a little bit smaller than the size of the box so that it fits inside.
Fold along all the score lines, glue the acetate to the inside over the circle cut out, and then glue the tab on the side to turn the box into a rectangle. Then, fold the bottom flaps into each other to create the bottom of the box. I like to hot glue the last flap to ensure the bottom of my box is nice and sturdy.
Fold the tabs on all 4 sides of the box insert and put it inside the bottom of the box. This is the piece that will hold your bath bomb steady. Then, put your bath bomb in the box. I chose this one with sprinkles because I thought it was really fun!
If you are filling your box with something other than bath bombs, you can leave this piece out. These boxes are also great for candy, small gifts, or even a gift card!
Now let’s make the flowers! I love using rolled flowers on my projects because they are easy to make and add dimension to your creations. You can use one big rolled flower on the top of the box or make a set of smaller ones and make a little bouquet on the top.
Using a dowel rod or other round tool, curl your rolled flower into a spiral. Use hot glue to glue the flap on the bottom to hold it all together. Be sure to hold this closed for a bit until you’re sure it’s dry. Finally, glue the flower and leaves to the top of your box. Now your adorable box is ready for gifting!
